|423 (OP19 MAY) Alexander Dennis Enviro 100 B33F
The (fairy) story behind this bus is that Alexander Dennis wanted to enter the
small bus market to compete with the Optare Solo and a prototype bus
was built based on an adapted Enviro 200. However, it became clear that
the market was not big enough to justify putting it into production so
the project was quietly abandoned. The bus was left in a corner of the
works where it was discovered in 2019 by Padbus management who were
visiting to collect another new bus for their fleet. Padbus made a
cheeky offer for the bus which was accepted by ADL and the bus headed
south to the Grey Green garage in Winchcombe. There, it entered
service on route 37 (Willersey-Broadway-Evesham) replacing Mini
Pointer Dart 553, which was withdrawn and sold.
