The Oxford east-west Park & Ride service 12 passes beneath the low bridge at Oxford Station. Originally it was operated by single deck Leyland Nationals and Leyland Lynxes. When an increase in capacity was required it proved difficult to source low height double deckers so it was decided to use articulated buses.  The first was this Volvo B10LA but subsequent deliveries have been from Scania and Mercedes. This bus then carried generic Park & Ride branding for use as an operational spare for all three Park & Ride services. It was replaced on this work by Mercedes Citaro artic 543 and withdrawn in 2014.
The model is an extensive rebuild of two EFE diecasts.
